ISP-UL License Inspection Conducted at Shimla Under Guidance of Addl. DGT, HP LSA
Under the able guidance of the Addl. DGT, HP LSA, the Technology Vertical successfully conducted an ISP-UL license inspection of RailTel Corporation of India Limited at Shimla on 28.01.2026.
The inspection was carried out as part of routine regulatory oversight to ensure strict compliance with the terms and conditions of the Unified License (UL) for Internet Service Providers (ISP). The team examined technical infrastructure, network architecture, statutory compliance records, security protocols, and operational parameters to verify adherence to Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines.
Officials confirmed that the inspection aimed at maintaining transparency, strengthening regulatory compliance, and ensuring uninterrupted delivery of licensed telecom services to subscribers in the region. The exercise also reviewed implementation of lawful interception and monitoring systems, IPDR compliance, and adherence to security and data retention norms as prescribed by DoT.
The Technology Vertical emphasized that such inspections play a crucial role in safeguarding service standards and promoting accountability among service providers. The proactive supervision reflects the commitment of the HP LSA towards ensuring quality telecom services and regulatory compliance across Himachal Pradesh.
The inspection concluded smoothly with cooperation from the representatives of RailTel Corporation of India Limited, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to regulatory norms and service continuity.
